In Detail
The first phase of the National Programme for Girls in STEM, established by Council of Ministers Resolution No 175/2025, laid the institutional and methodological foundations for promoting the participation of girls and women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This report presents a review of the first six months of work by the Technical Working Group responsible for its implementation.
During this period, structural instruments were developed: the Girls in STEM Badge, the Ambassadors Network, and the Matilda Gage Award. A monitoring framework was defined, based on achievement and impact indicators, and the mobilisation of organisations and funding was secured. The increased weighting of training grants for women in STEM fields and the high demand recorded in available calls demonstrate the relevance and timeliness of the Programme.
The report also presents recommendations for the second phase, highlighting the need for an integrated approach model throughout the life cycle.
