Improvement of service quality

The Cloud Strategy for Public Administration provides the agility, flexibility, scalability and robustness needed to support its processes in a digital environment.

The benefits of this strategy are based on three main pillars:

Efficiency:

  • Cloud Computing is an effective solution that increases the cost-effectiveness of using computing resources. It achieves this by reducing the waste of excess capacity that can occur when using resources dedicated to services;
  • Cloud Services promote the aggregation and consolidation of IT resources that are currently dispersed and/or duplicated;
  • Cloud Services boost productivity in the development of services, management of systems, applications and infrastructures by reducing the effort involved in managing multiple dispersed systems and applications with different characteristics.

Flexibility:

  • Cloud Services make the acquisition and delivery of ICT services to Public Administration organisations more streamlined;
  • Cloud Services simplify the ability to increase or decrease the resources needed to support services, as opposed to the current process.

Innovation and Digital Transformation:

  • The use of Cloud Services makes it possible to focus internal efforts on the management of business-orientated services, as opposed to concentrating efforts solely and almost exclusively on infrastructure management;
  • Cloud Services facilitate the integration of new technologies and services by providing common platforms;
  • Cloud Services also promote access to more widespread and adequate or sustained developments in the latest technology on the market.

In general, cloud services improve the quality of service. In addition to the three identified pillars, there is another cross-cutting axis: the operationalisation of policies relating to user management, data and information security, and access to devices and systems. This simplifies processes and contributes to greater overall integrity and resilience.
