IEFP keeps applications open for the Cheque-Formação + Digital programme, a digital skills upskilling support measure aimed at workers from different sectors of activity and levels of education. The support covers training in areas such as productivity tools, artificial intelligence, digital marketing, data analysis, and cybersecurity. Applications are open until 30 June 2026.
What is Cheque-Formação + Digital
Cheque-Formação + Digital is part of the Emprego + Digital programme, established under Ministerial Order No 246/2022 of 27 September. The measure operates on a reimbursement model: the worker enrols in training, initially covers the cost, and upon completing the process, applies to IEFP for reimbursement.
Support can reach a maximum of €750 per applicant per year, calculated from the date of approval of the first application. Where the cost of training is below this amount, the training may be fully funded.
Who can apply
The following may apply for Cheque-Formação + Digital:

Employees;

Self-employed workers;
-
Members of sole-member companies.
There is no minimum or maximum age requirement, nor any minimum educational attainment criteria.
Which training is eligible
Training must be delivered by:

Training providers certified by DGERT;
-
Higher education institutions;
-
Other bodies legally authorised to carry out training activities.
Support covers different levels and formats of training, from short courses to postgraduate programmes and master's degrees in the digital field. Among the most sought-after areas are:

Artificial intelligence;

Social media management;
-
Digital marketing;
-
Cybersecurity;
-
Productivity tools, such as Word and Excel.
How to submit an application
The application process is carried out through the IEFP Online portal and includes the following steps:

Choose eligible training from a certified provider;

Enrol in and complete the training;

Submit the application with proof of regularised contributory and tax status;

Await assessment and receipt of the Letter of Acceptance;

Sign and return the Letter of Acceptance;

Complete the training and close the process on the portal;

Receive reimbursement after final validation.
IEFP allows a payment period of up to 30 days after the completion and validation of the process.
Deadlines and conditions
Applications may be submitted for training started on or after 28 September 2022. The deadline for completion of eligible training is 30 June 2026 — extended due to the high demand recorded for the measure. Approval of applications is subject to available budgetary resources.
