In Detail

The recording of the 30 July webinar, 'Cloud in Public Administration: 2025 Results and the Path Towards a Sovereign Cloud', is now available on the digitalGOV portal, together with the supporting materials.

During the session, the evolution of cloud adoption across public administration was discussed, as well as the results achieved in 2025 and the next steps towards a national sovereign cloud strategy.

A key announcement during the session was that a public consultation is being prepared as part of the National Sovereign Cloud Plan (PNNS), which is expected to open shortly.

From cloud adoption to governance

This session emphasised the growing importance of cloud computing in the digital transformation of public administration, as well as its role in delivering more secure, resilient and efficient digital public services.

However, the increasing use of cloud services also brings new challenges, particularly in terms of security, resilience, governance and digital sovereignty. Against this backdrop, the National Sovereign Cloud Plan is being developed to strengthen the public administration's capacity to manage and protect its infrastructure and data while ensuring the right conditions for the continued development of digital public services.

Public consultation: National Sovereign Cloud Plan

At the end of the webinar, it was announced that a public consultation on the National Sovereign Cloud Plan will open soon. The date will be announced in due course.

The consultation will gather contributions from a range of stakeholders in the cloud and digital services ecosystem, including:

  • Public administration entities;
  • Technology companies and operators;
  • Higher education institutions and the scientific community;
  • Data centre sector stakeholders;
  • Other organisations and interested parties with relevant contributions in this area.

Their participation will help to gather a broad range of perspectives and identify key needs, contributing to the development of the next stages of the PNNS.

How to stay informed

Information about the public consultation, including the opening date, the period for participation and how to submit contributions, will be published on the digitalGOV portal.

In the meantime:

  • Follow the digitalGOV portal and social media channels to ensure you do not miss the launch of the public consultation.

The participation of stakeholders across the ecosystem is essential in order to help shape a Sovereign Cloud approach that reflects the needs and challenges of the public administration and the country.
