What is it?

The Digital School initiative goes far beyond providing devices and connectivity. Its goal is to ensure that every student, teacher, and school can collaborate, teach, and learn in a fully digital environment.

Key initiatives to implement the Digital School in Portugal:

• Provide equipment and internet access to students, teachers, and schools;
• Train and upskill teachers for the digital transition;
• Offer digital collaboration platforms and access to digital learning; resources;
• Establish a digital development action plan in every school.

The Digital School accelerates the use of digital technologies in families and school communities, with the ambition to:

• Promote digital inclusion for all;
• Support gender equality in the digital sphere;
• Strengthen the modernisation and continuous development of teachers and schools;
• Increase the use of digital educational resources and content;
• Prepare students for a labour market that is increasingly digital;
• Minimise the impact of COVID-19 on school activities.
