The Digital Mobile Key is a certified authentication and signing method issued by the Portuguese State. This solution allows users to access public or private portals, public services, and sign documents with a single login. To do so, Portuguese citizens simply link a mobile phone number to their civil identification number, while foreign citizens link their passport number or residence permit/card.

 

What is it?

Once the Digital Mobile Key with Biometrics becomes available, you will be able to use your mobile phone’s built-in camera to confirm your identity and register. You will be able to use your facial image as well as your fingerprint to verify your identity and authenticate with the Digital Mobile Key—a simpler way to use the Digital Mobile Key.

 

How does it work?

Your fingerprint or facial image is captured and compared with the image stored on your Citizen Card. Public services will always be accessible to you on your mobile phone or computer in a simple and secure way.
