Digital transformation is an inevitable process for organisations. It represents an opportunity to increase competitiveness and strengthen and future-proof your business. Be part of this journey, embrace digital and certify your organisation. Access the platform of Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda (INCM) or contact an accredited certification body directly.
Holding a Digital Maturity Seal is a mark of trust, competitiveness and progress. It recognises an organisation’s commitment to digital transformation.
An organisation certified in the areas of cybersecurity, accessibility, privacy and/or sustainability demonstrates that it follows good digital maturity practices and complies with the standards of the Portuguese Institute for Quality (Instituto Português da Qualidade, IPQ).
Digital maturity certification is available to any organisation, in the public or private sector.
The four certification dimensions are cybersecurity, accessibility, privacy and sustainability. Any organisation may choose to be certified in the dimensions it considers most relevant and/or a priority for its business.
For each of the four dimensions, there are three sets of technical requirements corresponding to three digital maturity levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold.
The level of technical requirements increases from Bronze to Silver to Gold, with Bronze being the least demanding and Gold the most demanding. Certification at a higher level requires compliance with the technical requirements of the lower levels.
There are four seals, one for each certification dimension, and a Global Digital Maturity Seal. This global seal can only be awarded when the organisation has achieved at least Bronze level in all certification dimensions.
The seals indicate the certification dimension and the digital maturity level achieved by the organisation.

Digital maturity certification seals have mutual recognition with Digital with Purpose, promoted by GeSI – Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative.
Digital with Purpose is an international movement that brings together sustainability and technology, involving public and private partners from around the world. Its main objective is to create greater business value through digital technology, in line with the Paris Agreement and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

Certification is obtained through an audit conducted by an independent certification body accredited by the Portuguese Accreditation Institute (Instituto Português de Acreditação, IPAC).
The audit verifies compliance with the standard (published by IPQ) and provides evidence that the organisation meets the relevant set of technical requirements.
To start the certification process, access the INCM platform or contact an accredited certification body directly.
Before starting the certification process, assess your organisation’s level of readiness for digital certification.
