Digital and Intelligent Nation

In an increasingly interconnected world where global competitiveness and people's well-being depend on robust digital infrastructure, it is crucial for Portugal to establish itself as a global leader in connectivity and territorial intelligence, promoting the development of a digitally intelligent nation.

This initiative is a strategic response to the need to expand access to intelligent territorial management solutions and improve interconnectivity between different territories, creating an ecosystem of good practices and data sharing.

As part of this initiative, targeted and collaborative actions and interventions are planned in partnership with public and private organisations, as well as civil society, namely:

• Implementation of Urban Management Platforms at the service of municipalities;
• Implementation of 5 Digital Twin Cities in strategic areas nationwide;
• Development of the Smart Territories Portal;
• Implementation of the Public Policies Dashboard and the Local Government Observatory;
• Implementation of the National Data Management System for Smart Territories;
• Organisation of training sessions,  benefitting 650 public administration workers (already achieved).
