Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 94/2024

Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 94/2024 of 25 July creates the project group “Council for Digital in Public Administration” (Conselho para o Digital na Administração Pública, CDAP) and establishes new governance structures for Digital in Portugal.

The Programme of the XXIV Constitutional Government prioritises creating a State that is simpler, more efficient, and focused on the needs of citizens and businesses, while promoting more effective management of technology within Public Administration.

It is essential to implement secure and standardised procedures that ensure coordinated action in response to the demands of society and the business sector. To this end, investment is required in a Public Administration that focuses on standardising, modernising, simplifying, and reducing bureaucracy in public services.

In addition, the Government aims to develop a Portugal Digital Strategy aligned with the principles of Europe’s Digital Decade, enabling citizens, businesses, and the State itself to adopt emerging technologies and ensuring a more equitable and accessible use of technology for all.
